Makongo L’histoire

André et Albert sont deux jeunes pygmées Aka de Mongoumba, près de la frontière avec le Congo et la RDC. Malgré leurs difficultés financières et la stigmatisation dont ils sont victimes au lycée, André et Albert se battent pour étudier et se mettre au niveau des autres élèves. Mais ils ont aussi un rêve : amener les autres enfants Aka à l'école. Chaque après-midi, après leurs cours, ils parcourent des sentiers sinueux, un tableau sur l'épaule et des ardoises dans un sac, pour aller alphabétiser leurs élèves de la forêt, des enfants non scolarisés de tous les âges. Pour financer leur entreprise, ils misent sur la prochaine récolte de makongo (chenilles), la principale source de revenus des Pygmées.

André and Albert are two young Aka pygmies from Mongoumba, near the border with Congo and DRC. In spite of their financial difficulties and the stigma they face at school, André and Albert fight to study and bring themselves up to the level of other students. But they also have a dream: bring the other Aka children to school. Every afternoon, after their classes, they walk along winding paths, with a blackboard on their shoulder and slates in a bag, to go and teach their pupuls from the forest, unschooled children of all ages, how to read and write. To finance their enterprise, they are betting on the next harvest of makongo (caterpillars), the Pygmies' main source of income.
